Flashback: CeMAT Asia 2014

CeMAT ASIA 2015 is under way at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, where it is running at the same time as five other industrial exhibitions under a "Made in China 2025" banner and covering a total of 17 halls in the giant site.

As the leading logistics event in the Asia Pacific region, CeMAT ASIA 2015 consists of eight thematic display areas, including system integration and solutions; conveying equipment; automated guided vehicles; forklifts and parts, hoisting equipment and parts; pallets and storage racks; auto-ID and machine vision; and logistics equipment.

The theme this year is Smart Logistics - Digitalisation and Automation, and the centrepiece is the intelligent logistics experience hall which focuses on the application of smart logistics in retailing, food, automotive, e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, tobacco, port service, postal service, e-manufacturing, printing and packaging.

The event has attracted 467 exhibiting companies, including Linde Forklift, Jungheinrich, HeLi, XGMA, Dematic, SSI SCHAEFER, Swisslog, CSIC, MURATA, Vanderlande, BMHRI, Siasun and RIAMB, displaying in an exhibition area of 47,000 sqm.

Besides the exhibition, delegates are able to participate in the Intelligent Manufacturing Forum, run in co-operation with Germany's VDMA peak industry body.

There's no indication yet of visitor numbers at the free event. Anyone intending to visit should preregister to ensure easy access to the exhibition which closes on October 30.
