Linde trains Bloodhound crew
Bristol, United Kingdom Linde Materials Handling has delivered specialist forklift truck training to members of the Bloodhound team ahead of their attempt to beat the world land speed record this year in South Africa. The supersonic Bloodhound car is powered by a Eurofighter Typhoon jet engine and a hybrid rocket. The car will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 1,000 mph. (1,609 km/h) and back again in 120 seconds.
Two members of the Bloodhound team, stores manager Michael Fawler and event logistics staffer Paul Nibblets, were given three days of intensive training from Linde Severnside in Bristol, and now have all the formal training needed for the logistical operations of the project. Linde is playing a crucial part in the development of the Bloodhound vehicle.
Silver award for Fortis
GREENVILLE, NC Hyster's Fortis S80-120FT lift truck series has won a 2014 Silver Product of the Year award from
Plant Engineering in the materials handling systems category. The series was selected for its ability to boost performance and reduce downtime in heavy-duty applications.
While the publication's editorial staff oversees the nomination process, the final award recipients are determined based on voting from readers.
The S80-120FT lift truck series offers features designed to increase engine cooling capabilities and productivity, allowing customers extended runtimes and superior dependability.
The series includes a Kubota 3.8L spark-ignited LPG powertrain designed for tough applications with high load duty cycles.
Export award for AUSA
