IPS now has its own POWER series traction batteries and is the UK distributor for Thermoil. |
Thermoil Inc has appointed IPS as the exclusive UK distributor for its Battery De-Mister and Battery De-Sulfater products.
Terry Fellner, president of Thermoil Inc, says: "IPS has a huge amount of experience in supplying replacement parts and is highly regarded in the aerial lift industry. We believe IPS is therefore the right partner to take Thermoil forward and continue our penetration of the UK market."
Thermoil products are additives that prolong the life of lead acid batteries. The De-Mister prevents corrosion and reduces water evaporation, increasing battery life and reducing recharge times. The De-Sulfater prevents and reverses damage caused by sulphation, reduces battery failure and reduces resistance by up to 50%, thereby increasing battery efficiency.
IPS is also launching its own POWER series of 6V deep-cycle traction batteries for aerial lifts. The initial POWER range features five batteries ranging from 220 Ah to 380 Ah.
Kevin Shadbolt, operations director of IAPS Group, which owns IPS, says: "We are delighted to be taking on the UK distributorship of Thermoil products, which help access equipment owners to save money by making traction batteries last longer."
IPS supplies replacement parts for access platforms and is the official UK parts distributor for Genie, Hinowa, Isoli, Omme Lift, Grove Manlift, Manitou, MEC, Youngman BoSS and Pop-Up. It has five mobile parts sales vans covering the UK, supported by a call centre and a 17,500 sq ft. (1,625 sqm) parts warehouse.
The company, established in 2002, is part of IAPS Group, which was formed in 2012 through the merger of Telford-based IPS and Huntingdon-based Access Platform Sales Ltd. The group claims to be the largest independent full-service distributor of powered access platforms in the UK.
Private company Thermoil Inc, headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA, was established in 1992. The Battery De-Mister, launched in 2000, and the Battery De-Sulfater, launched in 2008, are its main product offerings.
