Mile High has added Komatsu to its line-up |
Mile High Forklift Inc. in Denver has added Komatsu Forklift as one of the brands it offers to customers throughout the state of Colorado. Although it already sells and services a number of forklift brands, sales and rental coordinator James Tomberlin says adding Komatsu to its line-up last summer has resulted in "exponential growth" for the company and it will be the most significant part of its marketing strategy in the near future.
"We are really hitting critical mass right now with orders coming in," Tomberlin says. "In the future, we expect Komatsu to be our number one resource."
He adds that Mile High has already expanded its staff from eight to 14 to accommodate the anticipated business growth with the introduction of Komatsu products and he is working now to hire more technicians and salespeople as quickly as he can identify likely candidates.
"We are layering in people to support the new business as fast as we can get them," Tomberlin explains.
The family-owned business, founded in 1998, had previously expanded its facility with a new 12,000 sqft. (1,115 sqm) warehouse with five bay doors and more than 1,000 sqft. (93 sqm) devoted to the parts department.
We just took delivery of three new trucks this morning and we're rolling out new software today to help with the sales," Tomberlin says. "We'll also be overhauling our website and I'm getting us onto Twitter so we can use social media to market ourselves."
Other forklift brands that Mile High offers include Genie, Tailift, Hyster, Nissan, Heli, Presto, Big Joe and Barrett. The company, run by a father-and-son team, provides sales, rentals, service, parts and custom fabrication throughout Colorado. It emphasises that it uses no harmful components in its fabrication processes and concentrates on environmental sustainability as much as possible in every part of its business.
"Komatsu is a very well-built machine and we expect it to be a big part of our business for a very long time," Tomberlin notes.
