NYK Forklifts has become the exclusive dealer for the Nichiyu brand of battery electric forklifts in Queensland.

General manager Phil Singleton tells Forkliftaction.com News that the company will sell the full range of Nichiyu counterbalance and reach truck battery electric forklifts and plans to appoint agents throughout the state, from Cairns to the south-east border to distribute product and service and repair machines.

"We will provide full training to our agents," he adds.

He says NYK had been an agent for Nichiyu in Queensland for many years but had now become the exclusive dealer in the state for the Japan-based company. This follows Nichiyu's integration with Mitsubishi, which resulted in the sale of the previous agent in NSW, Wholesale Materials Handling, previously known as Nichiyu Forklifts Australia, to AAL Hyster (Forkliftaction.com News #702).

He says Nichiyu stock will be arriving from Japan by the end of the month, and the company intends to launch a new product into the Australian market before the end of the year.

Words of support …

These releases in Forkliftaction are a nice experience for SNDC... We got seven inquiries coming from Canada, USA, Mexico, Israel and Australia (five from retailers, two from machines manufacturers) and we are still in contact with them. I can state that's a success story!
