Denholm Global Logistics has added six new Cat lift trucks, including four 2.5 T LPG-powered forklifts and two 1.0 T high-level order pickers to its materials handling fleet.
Impact Handling's Manchester branch, which opened in 2013, also supplied four specialist 2 T Aisle Master articulated trucks. The value of the order is confidential.
This is the first time UK-based Denholm, which offers a full range of supply chain services to a variety of international customers, has worked with Impact Handling.
Barry Chester, Denholm's warehouse and transport manager, explains that the company's materials handling fleet operates intensively for at least 16 hours a day, rising to 24 hours in the months leading up to Christmas.
"We need machines that are durable and can cope with the demands we put on them. Impact Handling's products not only match our needs, but their service levels have really impressed us.
"The new assets replace older trucks and the team at Impact Handling worked hard to ensure the transition from old to new equipment was as seamless as possible, minimising downtime."
The new GP25N 2.5 T trucks are fitted with K21 LE engines that have a three-way closed loop catalytic convertor. The two high-level order pickers recommended by Impact Handling following a site audit can lift up to 7.5 m (24.6 ft.).
Impact Handling also supplied two refurbished pieces of equipment that Denholm has already been operating - a Cat power pallet truck and a Hako floor sweeper, which work in Denholm Global Logistics' warehouse in Newton-Le-Willows.
The company is part of Denholm Logistics Limited, which also incorporates Denholm Handling, Denholm Transport and Denholm Wilhelmsen.
