Intermodal Europe is a free exhibition and conference for logistics professionals. |
The European freight forwarders' association (CLECAT) and the European Shippers' Council (ESC) will chair a workshop on 'Intelligent logistics through partnering in the supply chain' at Intermodal Europe 2014 in November.
On day two of the expo at the Rotterdam Ahoy, Nicolette van der Jagt, director general of CLECAT, and Joost Sitskoorn, ESC acting secretary general, will lead the workshop, which will include presentations from industry experts and a round table discussion.
Van der Jagt says: "There is a lot of innovation in this industry, which will be discussed, such as the development of intelligent cargo to improve efficiency and sustainability and the management of complex supply chains through intelligent IT systems. We are chairing these sessions in cooperation with iCARGO, a project that aims to advance the use of information and communications technology in support of new logistics services."
Workshop topics will include the challenges users and operators face through partnerships within the supply chain, and industry developments.
Established in 1958, CLECAT represents the interests of more than 19,000 companies in logistics, freight forwarding and customer services.
The ESC was founded in 1963. It represents the freight transport interests of about 100,000 companies.
Intermodal Europe, on 11-13 November, is a free exhibition and conference for logistics professionals. It will include demonstrations of technology, systems and data management, and hear forecasts of future innovations and market trends.
