When US President Obama visited the American military cemetery in Waregem, Belgium last Wednesday, TVH's marketing department welcomed him with a special sign along the E17 motorway.

Outside the TVH headquarters that faces the motorway, an LED wall that was 5 metres (16.4 ft.) wide and 2.5 metres (8.2 ft.) high was placed on top of two containers, featuring as image of a forklift and the question: 'Need a lift, Mr President?'. Aerial work platforms were arranged next to it in a "welcoming" style.

Company spokesperson Debbie Manhaeve tells Forkliftaction.com News that while the marketing and graphic design team came up with the LED wall, it was rental equipment department Gunco that placed the machines. "(We've had) no response from the president's entourage so far [but] we got good coverage in the Belgian press and in other European magazines. We also got good reactions on Facebook."

TVH says the early announcement of Obama's visit allowed the company to make the necessary arrangements to ensure its customers received their parcels on time. Each day, TVH ships nearly 6,000 parcels to destinations worldwide. European customers receive their parcels within 24 hours while the rest of the world within 48 hours.
