 Camoplast Solideal tyres for materials handling equipment |
Camoplast Solideal Inc has acquired tyre distributor Gulimsa Commercial SL of Cuarte de Huerva in the Zaragoza province of Spain. Terms were not disclosed.
The buyer's aim is to improve its distribution network in Spain.
Gulimsa distributes tyres and tracks in the materials handling and construction industry and has a 22-year business relationship with Camoplast Solideal.
"Finding better ways to distribute our products is part of our entrepreneurial culture," says Robert Lightfoot, vice president - materials handling at Magog-based Camoplast Solideal. "By joining forces with Gulimsa, we can get closer to our customers, improve our services and tailor them for the needs of this local market."
The Gulimsa facility occupies 1,000 sqm (10,764 sqft.). All 10 Gulimsa employees remain in the Camoplast Solideal organisation. The transaction was completed on 14 February.
Employees from both organisations will collaborate to serve the Spanish market. Camoplast Solideal does not have current ongoing relationships with other dealerships in Spain.
Camoplast Solideal designs, manufactures and distributes off-road tyres, wheels, rubber tracks and undercarriage systems for materials handling, construction, agricultural and power-sport equipment applications. The firm employs more than 7,500 staff, operates advanced research and development centres as well as manufacturing plants in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia, and supplies original equipment manufacturers and replacement market outlets.
