Tyre specialist Camoplast Solideal has changed its name to Camso Ltd.
"The launch of Camso highlights the success our company has achieved in just a few years," says Camso chairman and CEO Pierre Marcouiller. "We have become the world's second-largest specialised player in the manufacturing of tyres, tracks and track systems for off-the-road vehicles," he adds, explaining that Camso's sales in this sector have grown from USD95 million to over USD1 billion in seven years.
The company serves four markets: materials handling, construction, agriculture and powersports which it says account for 11% of the global tyre and track market.
Camso says its focus creates an in-depth knowledge of the off-the-road market, enabling the company to identify its customers' very specific needs and develop enhanced products for those needs.
Camso designs, manufactures and distributes tyres, wheels, tracks and track systems. It works with major OEMs such as Toyota, Caterpillar, John Deere and BRP, as well as several distribution networks.
Camso has over 7,500 employees in 27 countries. It has four R&D centres and 24 manufacturing plants, and operates an international distribution network in over 100 countries.
