Egon Strehl

A 5 February funeral service in Germany will memorialise Egon Strehl, 58, the late managing director and chief executive officer of Clark Europe GmbH in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Strehl was a long-time employee of Clark before the forklift maker's business and financial difficulties more than a decade ago.

Subsequently, he worked in the industry and for Toyota Material Handling Europe.

In 2004, he returned to Clark Europe in the top positions under the ownership of Baik Sung-Hak, who acquired Clark International and its business units in a bankruptcy auction in 2003.

Strehl was experiencing health issues recently but remained active in business decisions until his death last weekend.
