Richard Higgins laid to rest

The Rev Daniel M Powell officiated at a funeral service for Richard E Higgins, who died on 21 February (Forkliftaction.com News #553). He was 77.

The 28 February service for the forklift rodeo proponent and retired military officer took place in Grace Lutheran Church in Springfield. Burial with full military honors occurred at the Ferncliff Cemetery & Arboretum in Springfield.

Higgins' survivors include his wife, DeWandia; a son, Richard Eric Higgins and his wife, Dafne of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and grandsons Finn, Aidan, Sebastian and Santiago.

The family suggests directing any memorial donations to the Springfield Foundation, Grace Lutheran Church or the charity of an individual's choice.
