Since the last news article on double-deep pallet storage was so popular, we would like to introduce you to a another application for handling different sizes of pallets. Instead of using our RGE hydraulic lift truck forks MSE-Forks has designed an alternative that is more appropriate for applications with less frequent need for forklift tine length change: the Manual Extension Forks. The forks are ideal for industries like furniture, paper and corrugated board as they can be extended to several positions.Until now, the use of Manual Extension Forks was characterised as time-consuming, wear-sensitive and it often led to unnecessary injury due to their weight and complex extension mechanism. Now,
MSE-Forks has developed new (patented) Manual Extension Forks that eliminate all of these inconveniences and offer maximum user friendliness. How else would the company be able to carry out the slogan
"Innovative forklift attachments designed to reduce costs"?
These new manually adjustable extension forks (MME range) were first introduced in the USA at the request of an internationally operating retailer. In terms of design specifications, these forks are comparable to the
hydraulic extension forks which, due to their special construction, are designed so they cannot catch on objects such as projecting pallet planks, rack joists or tensioning straps.

Always there when you need them!Manual Extension Forks provide a simple solution for handling differing load sizes or
dual load transport. To extend the lift truck tines, the lift truck driver simply gets off the truck and moves the extending portion of the forks by hand. Like the hydraulic forks, manual-extendable forks are always available when needed as they permanently replace the original forks.
Highly innovative locking systemThe manner of adjusting the outer sleeve is highly innovative. A simple fingertip locking mechanism, which doubles as a grease point, allows the forks to be extended manually and locked into an extended position for safe and secure transport of goods.
All the components are integrated into the forks and cannot accidentally get lost as the outer forks and locking pins do not come off. The locking mechanism has a grease fitting to prevent stiffness or sticking due to corrosion within rough environments.
To summarise, the
advantages of MSE-Forks Manual Extensions:
- Remain mounted on the forklift truck so they are always available for the driver;
- Lightweight construction that is extended easily to a variety of lengths;
- Cannot catch on any objects like tensioning straps;
- Eliminate safety risks and inconveniences typically associated with loose fork extensions;
- Extension in just one simple movement;
- No hydraulic parts;
- Low maintenance costs;
- No loose parts.
As mentioned earlier, Manual Extension Forks provide a simple solution for applications which have infrequent need for handling differing load sizes. For more demanding applications, we recommend our original hydraulic telescopic KOOI-REACHFORKS® which allow length adjustment at the touch of a lever.More information: www.telescopicforks.com.MSE-Forks is based in The Netherlands, with a wholly owned
