When you are searching for a method to move containers around your yard or depot there are various options available to you. A common mistake made when looking for this type of equipment is the assumption that they are all the same or that they all have the same capabilities.

You may generally lean towards a forklift or a reach stacker to move your containers. But in this instance it would be in your best interests to also consider a Mobicon Straddle Carrier. Achieving the same results with some added benefits to your container handling operations a Mobicon Straddle Carrier might be the solution you need.

Unlike forklifts or reach stackers, with a Mobicon the weight of the container is evenly spread out over the 8 wheels of the Straddle Carrier, resulting in a very low wheel weight, while still allowing you to move containers around your yard or depot in the same fashion as with a forklift. Wheel weights are often forgotten in the decision making process of which container handler to buy. That can prove to be costly, as the much heavier forklifts and reach stackers can cause major damage to your yard surface.

The Two-Tower Straddle Carrier by Mobicon, is a machine made to move containers of multiple sizes around yards or inside warehouses. With an affordable purchase price and low wheel weights, the Mobicon Straddle Carrier can work on all surfaces and is more affordable than a forklift in many scenarios. Although a forklift is a much larger machine, the traditional issues that come with such a big piece of machinery are not found in the Mobicon Straddle Carrier.

The relative low purchase price of a Mobicon is also much less than that of a comparative forklift. Significant direct cost savings have been realised by existing customers.

When assessing your container handling needs make sure that you investigate the correct machine for the work!
