Shanghai factory delivers its 1,000th machine
Shanghai, ChinaKalmar, part of Cargotec, delivered the 1,000th reachstacker manufactured at the company's Shanghai factory to Wing Wah Container Depot Co Ltd, Hong Kong, on 26 July 2013. This is a milestone in Kalmar's business development in China.
Cargotec claims Kalmar's Shanghai factory has become a leader for reachstackers in the Asia Pacific region. It is now focusing on deliveries to Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Wing Wah was established in 1978, and has been in the container handling business for over 35 years. The new reachstacker will be the latest in a fleet of Kalmar machines operated by Wing Wah at its Tsing Yi depot in Hong Kong.
Kalmar pioneered the world's first commercial reachstacker in the 1980s. It has delivered 8,000 machines worldwide.

The award, in its 11th year, recognises service providers whose solutions have had a significant effect on a customer's efficiency, customer service and overall supply chain performance.
MD Logistics was selected after a six-month nomination period from among over 2,500 companies. The company is a global provider of third-party logistics services, specialising in life sciences and pharmaceuticals, retail and consumer goods, and transportation services.

The FLTA's 11th annual conference will encourage managers and supervisors to take a comprehensive look at forklift safety to improve the UK's safety record, with the theme: 'Top to Bottom Safety: from shelf-stacker to CEO, every contribution counts'.
Operations director Gavin Wickham says: "We aim to play a very active role in the conference and in helping promote it to the widest possible audience."
Wickham will deliver a best practice seminar about the safety of engineers titled 'Stop and Think'.
