Competition for forklift operators

Entries have opened for the RTITB Operator of the Year competition and will close on 14 February.
Sponsored by Toyota Material Handling UK, TNT Express Services UK and Ireland, and Calor Gas Ltd, the event is open to all counterbalance forklift operators who are registered on the National Operators Registration Scheme.
The first stage of the competition is an online theory and hazard perception test. Successful operators will be invited to attend the preliminary heats at the IMHX in Birmingham from 19-22 March. To enter online, visit www.opofyear.com.

TMHU donates forklifts
Columbus, IN, United States

Toyota Material Handling USA has donated two internal combustion forklifts to the City of Columbus and United Way of Bartholomew County.
Company president Jeff Rufener says both organisations provide vital services to Columbus residents. The City of Columbus will use the forklift at the City Garage, the distribution centre for a variety of city services, while United Way will use its forklift to transport and handle donations at its Doug Otto Center in Columbus.

Flexi launches new division
Birmingham, United Kingdom

Flexi Narrow Aisle will introduce its new Warehouse Systems Division at IMHX 2013.
The division will offer a comprehensive range of warehouse planning and design consultancy services to the logistics and materials handling industry.
Director John Maguire says the division will use warehouse planning and throughput simulation software to deliver tailored advice to customers.
