Cascade Corporation COO Terry Cathey has announced the promotion of Mike Kern to Corporate Vice President Material Handling Products (MHP) Marketing and Sales.

"Mike's devotion to outstanding customer service, proven business skills, and high standards of performance will help ensure we maintain our current leadership position in North America and bring our new capabilities in Europe to their full potential," Cathey said.

Kern joined Cascade in 1966, working his way through various positions in manufacturing, sales and marketing to his most recent assignment as Director of MHP Marketing and Sales for the Americas. Kern's many accomplishments include the development of Cascade's very successful Remanufacturing Program. In his new capacity he will continue to be directly responsible for North American MHP Marketing and Sales with the addition of functional direction of European MHP Marketing and Sales and coordination of MHP Programs worldwide.

Europe represents Cascade's greatest opportunity for growth. Kern's involvement builds on the continuing progress and commitment Cascade has shown in recent years in this very important marketplace.

Based in Portland, Oregon, Cascade is the world's top producer of lift truck attachments. The company was founded in 1943, and has locations in 16 countries around the globe.

By working with dealers and end users around the globe, Cascade has developed a vast array of advanced damage reduction technologies. This, coupled with flexible manufacturing, short lead times and quality products, strengthens its position as the premier supplier to the material handling industry.
