A Vulcan reach stacker in operation at Agility. |
Heavy lift specialist Agility Project Logistics has ordered two new Vulcan reach stackers from supplier MLA to add to its fleet which includes seven battery electric forklifts, 17 internal combustion forklifts, three 32 T forklifts and four reach stackers.
The new units will be delivered in November this year.
Senior operation manager at Agility Warren Greenhalgh says the Vulcans have been particularly good. "They are fuel-efficient, quiet and the driver comfort keeps the staff pretty happy. There has been no unplanned down time on these machines (which operate six 10-hour days a week).
"We did have some teething problems with the set-up, but the response was so good from MLA that I really can't complain.
"They at one stage put a technician on a plane with the necessary parts and flew him up to fix the machine. This is a level of service that I have not seen in Australasia, let alone Western Australia."
The value of the order was not revealed.
