C Butt renews its contract with Barloworld Handling for its Magna Park operation in Lutterworth.

C Butt has renewed a materials handling contract with Barloworld Handling for its Magna Park operation in Lutterworth.
The site's operation manager, Mark Beaumont, says C Butt reviewed three other suppliers and decided not only did Barloworld offer the best value solution, but that it already had a good working relationship with the firm spanning the past five years.
The multi-million pound investment at C Butt's national distribution centre includes Hyster very narrow aisle and warehouse technology.

KION improves debt maturity profile

The KION Group has successfully completed the amendment and extension of its senior debt facilities.
Lenders have agreed to the commercial and technical amendments and documentary changes which the company had proposed last month.
Harald Pinger, CFO of KION Group, says: "I am very satisfied with the broad support our amendment and extension offer has received among lenders... This provides KION with additional long-term financial security". 


FEM adopts joint position

The European Materials Handling Federation (FEM) has joined forces with CECE, CECIMO and CEMA to issue recommendations to streamline market surveillance in the European Union in preparation for the European Commission's upcoming Market Surveillance Package.
The recommendations include targeting controls on products identified with the assistance of industry, ensuring first checks at borders, making rogue traders financially liable, setting a follow-up obligation for market surveillance authorities when alerted to individual cases and providing the European Commission with financial capacity to co-ordinate market surveillance products.
