Richard C (Rick) Golden, corporate liaison officer with Speedshield Fleet Solutions LLC, died recently at the age of 60.

"The sad news of the death of Rick closes a chapter on one of the materials handling industry's most interesting and hardworking characters," says Paul Dawson, executive director with parent firm Automotion Control Systems Pty Ltd (ACS) of Springvale, Victoria, Australia. "Rick made an indelible print on the industry by working tirelessly with equipment dealers to support and administrate their own equipment fleets using wireless technology. Rick was a staunch supporter of Speedshield technology." Speedshield Fleet Solutions in Michigan City is a US operation of ACS.

Golden joined Speedshield in mid-2009 working from the Dallas, Texas market.

Previously, he was a senior technician for Dallas-based Briggs Equipment before moving into a materials handling equipment management role with URS Corp's energy and construction division, known as URS Washington, supporting conglomerate Kraft Foods Inc in Garland, Texas.
