Pacific West Forklift Services Ltd has donated use of a propane-powered Nissan triple-mast forklift to the Loaves and Fishes food bank.

"We pulled it out of our used sales fleet," says Jeff Gallimore, owner of the business in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.

The food bank needed materials handling equipment to fully utilise available space in a warehouse that it began occupying in November.
Shelving allows placement of pallets at elevations far higher than a manual operation can achieve. In addition to the warehouse, Loaves and Fishes operates at six satellite service locations.

In a commercial transaction, Gallimore says he would rent the Nissan CPHO1A15V forklift for CAD950 (USD918) per month.

Pacific West offers maintenance on site or in its facility, sells and rents previously owned forklifts and also has an office in Courtenay, British Columbia.
