On July 1st, Doosan confirmed the start of its new business with an official launch ceremony of affiliate company Doosan Industrial Vehicle.

The new business will oversee all Doosan's global forklift activities, focusing on pushing the company onto the next level as it continues to make great strides in the materials handling market.

It was an exciting day for Doosan as hundreds turned up for the inauguration held at the main Incheon factory. Representatives from all areas of the business, including executives, dealers and staff members, attended to witness the day's events.

The firing of a cannon symbolised the official start of the business, signaling a fresh start for the re-focused forklift operation. Congratulatory messages from representatives of the company followed, including words of encouragement from Doosan Industrial Vehicle CEO, Mr. CW Park.

Said CW: "We are at the stage where we are creating a new history for Doosan Industrial Vehicle. With years of experience and dedication we have successfully developed our forklifts division into a world leading supplier of materials handling equipment."

The new business will effectively separate the forklift operation from the construction, marine engine and machine tools divisions and comes as the company looks to build on recent successes in forklifts, including an increased market share, a growing distributor network and the expansion of the product range.

"Our overall goal is to make Doosan Industrial Vehicle one of the top forklift companies in the market. To do this, we must continually invest in the improvement and expansion of our products in order to exceed our customers' needs and expectations.

"As part of the Doosan Group, Doosan Industrial Vehicle will continue providing quality materials handling equipment to our customers whilst maintaining our sustainable growth," he said.

Doosan Industrial Vehicle supplies materials handling equipment to over 90 countries. Designed to offer simple, powerful, performance as well as operator comfort and environmental friendliness, Doosan equipment helps customers to get the most from their investment.

Over 100 models are in the DIV Range from 1.5 to 18.0 ton diesel forklifts, 1.5 ton to 5.0 ton electric forklifts and a variety of warehouse equipment.
