Hiab, part of Cargotec Corporation, has opened a dedicated service centre in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The service centre is owned and managed by Hiab's service and installation partner, Al Mazrooei Engineering Services LLC, and will be part of Hiab's global service centre network.

The service centre, staffed by about 25 service technicians and other support personnel, will install new equipment and provide maintenance services for used equipment customers.

While it focuses on customers in and around the UAE, it will also provide installation services for customers in the Middle East and North East Africa.

Mahendra Ekanayake, market area director, Hiab Middle East and North Africa, says his company has cooperated with Al Mazrooei Engineering Services for a long time. "We requested Pradeep Raman, managing director of the company, to help us develop a service centre that was accessible for all our Middle East and North East African customers."

"The majority of our customers operate in the construction sector where the uninterrupted operation of equipment is critical in large building projects. Since this is a dedicated service centre, it will reduce the lead time for customer service and enable us to work even more closely with customers to provide tailored services," he explains.

Hiab has been supplying equipment to the Middle East for 40 years. The Hiab product range includes loader cranes, forestry and recycling cranes, demountables, truck-mounted forklifts and tail lifts.
