Komatsu Forklift Australia has delivered a fleet of forklifts to a newly built materials recovery facility (MRF) in western Sydney’s Glendenning.
The three FH40-2 and one FD25T-17 forklifts are all fitted with Bolzoni attachments.
Glenn Roberts, area sales manager Komatsu Forklift Australia, tells Forkliftaction News the forklifts delivered to the site earlier this month were chosen because of their ability to cope with a heavy-duty work environment.
“We worked with the customer to come up with a specification that suited their needs,” Roberts adds. "The forklifts were ordered from the factory with extra features to cope in this demanding environment.”
Roberts says these extras included tilt and steering cylinder boots, undercarriage protection, air intake pre-cleaner, puncture-proof tyres, radiator screen/ protection, speed limiter, fleet management system and safety lights.
“Two of the forklifts are fitted with Bolzoni bale clamps to pick up bales of recycled materials to place into shipping containers and trucks for distribution locally and overseas,” Roberts continues.
“One is fitted with a Bolzoni rotating fork positioner for the ability to pick up waste bins and rotate them with no movement of the load, making it an extremely safe process to empty bins into hoppers for recycling
“The fourth forklift is a Komatsu FD25 fitted with a Bolzoni rotator. This forklift is a multi-purpose forklift used for many day-to-day tasks.”
