The choice has now been extended with the new Full Floating, tiltable, cabin for the DP/GP20-55N range. This is added to the Steel or PVC panel cabins and to the retrofit panel cabin, offered for after sales fitment, for the second hand and rental fleet markets.

Historically the Scandinavian market has been leading the demand of trucks with cabins, due to the cold weather conditions and the high level comfort expected by operators. However, in other European countries, we can see a substantial percentage of trucks fitted with a variety of cabins. This trend goes hand in hand with a higher concern for the operator's ergonomics considerations and the expansion of industries with cold store applications.

To assimilate the client needs as much as possible and ensure a perfect technical and visual fit to the product, Cat Lift Trucks specifies the characteristics of its cabin solutions with the input of experienced lift truck dealers and customers.

Fully Tiltable, Deluxe Cabin

This input translates into the unique fully tiltable, Deluxe cabin. This option, on 2 to 5.5 tonnes models, is mounted on four rubber shock mounts resulting in very low noise and vibration levels. Another great advantage of this cabin is the possibility to electrically tilt the whole cabin backwards, allowing a service engineer to perform the regular maintenance in no time and without effort.

Panel cabins

If you are looking for a more flexible solution, the best choice is a panel cabin. These can be ordered from the factory or obtained as a retrofit kit from the Cat^® local dealer. A series of configurations are offered to match any need.
Choices vary from transparent roof only, through to semi or fully enclosed operator cabins. Doors are available in steel and PVC versions; the former come with two-way sliding windows. Heating, cooling and audio system options complete the packages.

The main advantages are:

• Designed as an integral part of the truck and not as an afterthought.
• Ample choice in panel combinations to adapt to business' needs.
• Great visibility, also through the transparent overhead guard.
• Laminated front screens providing better protection for the operator.
• Completely waterproof
• Washer installation standard for ensuring good visibility, either forward or backwards

Trucks can also be fitted with a transparent solution; a combination of 5 mm laminated glass in the front and a sturdy polycarbonate overhead plate. The plate is treated to resist scratching and to stay transparent over time.
This is the ideal solution where high lifting occurs frequently and the view on the load has to remain completely unobstructed. Cat Lift Trucks is one of the very few manufacturers to offer this unique and safety enhancing cabin product.

Cabins are available for ranging from 1.5 to 5.5 tonnes in the IC engine counterbalance range, from 1.6 to 3.5 tonnes in the electric counterbalance range and from 1.4 to 2.5 tonnes in the reach truck range.

PANEL CABIN OPTIONS FRONT+TOP: Laminated glass front window with 2 speed wiper/washer, high visibility overhead guard with a roof shield. REAR: based on FRONT+TOP and adds a tempered glass rear window with wiper/ washer. PVC/D: Based on FRONT+TOP and REAR but with the addition of PVC doors. STEEL/D: Based on FRONT+TOP and REAR with the addition of lockable steel doors featuring a sliding window in each door.
