Narrow Aisle Ltd has appointed a business development manager to grow the market, especially in the Middle East.

According to John Maguire, Narrow Aisle's commercial director, "the Flexi articulated truck concept is now well known in the Middle East. With their space-saving qualities, Flexis offer significant advantages within a warehousing environment - especially in the Gulf region, where development land and operational costs are on a par (with), if not higher than those in Western Europe.

"The Flexi is already Europe's single biggest-selling articulated truck brand and the Middle East is a tremendous growth market for our company.

"Our success in the region is due in no small part to the effectiveness of Narrow Aisle's global marketing team who work hard to identify and develop business relationships with potential new dealers and clients within emerging territories around the world."

The company has appointed Pete Lancaster to spearhead its efforts.

Lancaster was previously responsible for Narrow Aisle's European territory alone, but his role has been expanded to cover the Middle East as a response to increasing demand for the company's solutions across that region.

Having joined Narrow Aisle after studying languages at Birmingham University (he is fluent in four languages), Lancaster will be based at Narrow Aisle's offices in the UK, but much of his time will be spent developing warehousing projects and visiting clients and potential clients in both the Middle East and across mainland Europe.

Flexi trucks, designed and manufactured at the company's UK manufacturing plant, are distributed in the UK and world-wide through a fully supported distributor network.
