Beumer Maschinenfabrik has appointed Jörn Fontius as managing director. He succeeds Norbert Stemich, who, after eight years in this position, is now focusing on the activities in the product business area.
Fontius joined Beumer in 2013 to guide corporate strategy. Afterwards, he was head of the global supply chain management. At the end of 2019, he moved to Beumer Corporation in Arlington, Texas, the North American subsidiary, where he was president - airport division until April 2021.
Before joining the system provider in 2013, he was a member of the management board of the Bundesvereinigung Logistik (BVL).
Fontius graduated in business administration and completed his doctorate in logistics during his professional career. He brings a wealth of experience to his new position.

Surridge

Bristol Forklifts has appointed Steve Surridge to its sales team. He has more than 30 years' experience in the sales of materials handling equipment, and brings extensive knowledge of the warehousing sector, which is hoped to greatly strengthen the dealer's presence in the Bristol and Swindon areas.
Surridge has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry including Crown, BT Rolatruc/Toyota and Combilift. His expertise will be invaluable to companies of all sizes across the region.
