The Manitou Group
has announced the appointment of Laurent Bonnaure as executive vice president - global sales and marketing and member of the executive committee. Responsible for the group's worldwide sales and marketing strategy, he will be overseeing all of the group's distribution subsidiaries as well as the global sales and marketing teams and will manage the global dealer network.
With an engineering Master's degree from the École Centrale Paris graduate school as well as a DEA (Master of Advanced Studies) in Energetics, Bonnaure completed his studies with a Master of Sciences from MIT (USA). Both French and Canadian, he has held numerous senior management positions in the United States, the United Kingdom and France, spending 11 years at the Elis Group before taking on the role of deputy managing director and board member of the Fraikin Group for eight years.  There, he also held the positions of executive vice president international, chief operating officer and, more recently, chief executive development officer.

Bob Hine, technical consultant at BITA, will retire in February 2017, ending an outstanding 10-year association with the trade body.
The announcement brings down the curtain on a 46-year career in the materials handling industry for Hine - a qualified engineer by trade - which included a senior position with Linde, where he managed the UK and overseas service product support team.
In addition to his role with BITA, Hine also represented the British Standards Institute as a technical expert in standards-setting activity across Europe and globally.

The European Materials Handling Federation (FEM)
recently elected Christophe Lautray, chief sales officer - Linde Material Handling, as its new president at its Biennial Congress in Bordeaux, France. Previously, Lautray had served as vice president. Following this election, he will lead the European Materials Handling Federation for two years and represent approximately 1,000 companies with about 160,000 employees.
Lautray will base his mandate on increasing the attractiveness of the materials handling industry, promoting internationalisation and boosting the numbers of high-ranking executives present at the FEM Congress and in working groups. Moreover, he intends to create stronger links with Orgalime, the European Engineering Industries Association. 
FEM, based in Brussels, Belgium, was founded in 1953 and represents manufacturers of materials handling, lifting and storage equipment and their interests vis-à-vis the European institutions and partners. FEM currently consists of a total of 15 members from the EU, as well as from Russia and Turkey.
