Mobicon's new low-profile straddle carrier is easy to operate.
Container handler maker Mobicon has added a low-profile straddle carrier designed to stack containers two high and to travel under awnings and through low door openings.

Jesse Schultz, Mobicon general manager, says the new model uses hydraulic lifting only, and avoids the use of potentially dangerous and unsafe wire ropes and sheaves, "making the Mobicon extremely low maintenance and safe".

The low-profile unit has a top-lifting spreader, either 20/40 telescopic or a fixed 20 ft. or 40 ft. spreader, making container handling fast and efficient.

"Most of our clients do not have a dedicated operator for the Mobicon, as typically the unit is used intermittently. Therefore, it is important to have a straddle carrier that is easy to operate. In Australia and most other countries, there is no license required to operate a Mobicon," he adds.

The first unit has been tested and delivered to a client in Australia who is extremely satisfied with its performance, according to Schultz. The customer has already ordered a second unit.

"We are proud to have received several orders for this new unit, proving that the design and value is recognised by our clients," Schultz notes.

Suitable for a wide variety of terrains, the Mobicon's unique 4 axle design is the only Mini Straddle Carrier on the market today recognised by civil engineers not to damage the average yard.

Mobicon Machines are used all over the globe in industries such as Defence Forces, Customs, Ports, Logistics Companies, Mining and Import/Export operations who require fast and efficient container handling operations. Mobicons clients include Linfox, K&S Freighters, Meinfreight, Toll.

Mobicon Mini Straddle Carriers are a safer, and more cost effective solution than forklifts or side loaders and are durable, easy to use, and provide superior maneuverability.
