Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) will this month start operations at a new, wholly owned subsidiary in Mexico.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries de Mexico, SA de CV, in Mexico City, will be capitalised at JPY94 million (USD866,119). The Mexican operation will initially have a staff of 10, headed by Naoomi Nakamura, MHI's current Mexico general manager, who will become the subsidiary's president.
MHI opted to create a locally incorporated company in Mexico to establish a domestic marketing and service base. Its primary role will be to market and sell MHI's large products, including its forklift range, and the company will use its new base to explore opportunities in Central America.
