Greenland Commercial & Forklift Corporation (GCFC), the Philippines' exclusive distributor of Nissan forklifts, aims to more than double its sales this year.
Following a major reorganisation late last year, GCFC has embarked on a strategy to increase its market share, said operations and marketing manager Ferdie Sia.
As part of the strategy, the company had merged its sales teams with GLC Forklift Inc, the marketing arm of GCFC, and added five more sales staff, making a total of 15.
Mr Sia expected a big demand for Nissan forklifts from manufacturing and shipping companies in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.
"We would also focus on spare parts and services to better serve our clients," he said.
Since winning its exclusive Nissan distributorship in 1997, GCFC has sold more than 437 Nissan forklifts. The 2003 target is to sell 94 forklifts, compared to the 38 machines sold in 2002. The company has been selling spares and performing mechanical services for more than 25 years.
