Linde is introducing sustainability initiativesLinde Material Handling UK is rolling out its “major sustainability investment program” across 14 depots in the United Kingdom as it works to reduce its carbon footprint and support customers in achieving the same goal.
The initiative includes introducing solar systems across its sites in the UK, introducing energy efficiency solutions and EV charging points at depot locations and, piloting a customer incentive program to encourage the transition to electric vehicles.
Linde Material Handling director Arthur O’Sullivan acknowledges the company has “some way to go” before it achieves its goal, but having now set out its “greenprint” to get there, it has a stated how it intends to do so.
“Our action plan doesn’t represent the limit of our investment in sustainability,” O’Sullivan acknowledges. “We are actively seeking and are open to any solutions that can help reduce our impact, no matter how big or small.”
Following its greenprint, Linde Material Handling UK has started integrating solar panels at its Bridgend premises in Wales and the Newton Wycliffe premises in North East England. It plans to “incorporate renewable energy solutions” across all of its premises in the UK.
Other sustainability undertakings by Linde include transitioning to EV company cars and service vans, decreasing energy consumption by introducing LED lighting across warehouses, workshops and offices, sourcing energy from low-carbon generation methods and installing roller shutters on workshops to reduce heat loss.
