The new Hawker Water Less motive power batteries from EnerSys allow greatly extended periods between topping up - between 4 and 13 weeks - and produce a reduction in battery maintenance labour of between 60% and 75%.

Providing a high level of power and reliability for all industrial traction applications, the Water Less uses proven PzS technology and advanced components to give increased efficiency. The battery has a reduced prism height and new flip top plugs. As well as possessing a larger electrolyte capacity Hawker Water Less has an electrolyte level indicator fitted as standard to inform the user exactly when topping up with water is necessary.

Hawker Water Less batteries are suitable for all applications and can be recharged with both 50 Hz and HF chargers. This in turn brings added flexibility to operating your battery fleet. A period between topping up of 4 weeks is achievable when used with 50 Hz chargers.

If charged with Hawker HF technology, Water Less requires topping up at approximately 8 weeks. This brings considerable additional savings with reduced electricity costs and less use of water. When used in conjunction with Hawker HF chargers and electrolyte circulation technology, a 13 week period between topping up can enable battery maintenance to be scheduled with truck servicing, or even incorporated into your maintenance agreement.

Topping up has always been an important issue for motive power battery users with neglect resulting in reduced battery performance and trucks not reaching the end of their shift and consequent production disruption. Enersys has developed Hawker Water Less batteries to address this issue and to help users to obtain maximum up-time, lower maintenance costs, lower energy consumption and where possible to align scheduled maintenance with battery top up procedures. Used together with Hawker single-point filling systems, electrolyte circulation, HF charging and Enersys battery fleet management solutions, Hawker Water Less brings considerable labour and electricity usage savings to motive power operations.
