Aerobot, a product developed by Austrian manufacturer Knapp, has been named best product in the “Order Picking, Conveying, Lifting, and Storing Technology” category at LogiMAT 2025.

The product, which was introduced to the public at the trade show, is one a new generation of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that is designed to complement Knapp’s range of automated storage systems.

The notable features of Aerobot include friction drive technology and the inclusion of lidar technology that allows it to navigate warehouses in three dimensions. According to Knapp, this ensures that it is highly flexible and scalable.

The Aerobot operates by moving under the shelving system and vertically along the shelves to the specified storage location.

There, a small bot satellite, located directly on the Aerobot, handles the storage and retrieval of the system containers, known as Aeroboxes, which can be stored up to four deep and filled to a weight of up to 35 kg.

Aerobot's win in the “Order Picking, Conveying, Lifting, and Storing Technology” category was one of three best product awards announced at the trade show’s opening-day ceremony.

The other two winners were the RFID Reader Generation 4 from Kathrein Solutions (in the “Identification, Cargo Securement, and Packaging and Loading Technology” category) and PSI Software’s Psiwms (in the “Software, Communications, IT” category).

Judged by an independent jury of scholars and journalists – according to their capacity to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline operations – the winners were selected from a field of over 120 submissions.
