IPW will represent KION in South Carolina

KION's relationship with Gregory Poole Equipment Company has ended, while
IPW Lift Techs has been appointed to additional territory within the state of South Carolina.

The parting of the ways follows Poole's June 2015 acquisition of three dealerships in a Hyster and Yale shake-up.

KION North America says IPW was appointed "due to their history of strong performance in terms of both sales and service".

The Savannah-based company has been a member of KION North America's dealer network since 2003 and it has opened a new branch location in Ladson, South Carolina to serve the expanded territory.

Founded in 2000 by Chris Reynolds, IPW began as an aftermarket parts supplier. Today, it is an authorised dealer for Linde, Hyundai, Genie and Big Joe.

The latest KION changes are among several recent developments to its nationwide sales and service dealer network for materials handling equipment.

Together with Multi-Batteries and Forklifts, its existing full-line dealer in Puerto Rico, KION North America expanded to the Dominican Republic in August 2015.

In November 2015, the industrial forklift manufacturer made the decision to expand its presence in the state of Virginia along with Roanoke-based Homestead Materials Handling Co., a Division of Jefferds Corporation.

"The focus that KION brings to the North American Market with its new product offering, along with the dedicated support and expertise that Homestead Materials Handling Company is known for, will make this (of) exceptional value to our customers," says Michael Milhoan, marketing manager of Homestead Materials Handling.

In addition to expanding its dealer network and North American presence, KION North America will be introducing new models to its product line over the next several years.

KION says its added reach and broader product offering is positioning the company "to build and maintain a stronger foothold in the North American materials handling equipment industry".
