It is much easier for a forklift fleet to program and extract data using wireless communication to a Vehicle Management System. In recognition of this, Keytroller's new LCD601 color access monitoring system comes standard with an embedded Wi-Fi radio. The end user has two choices with the wireless infrastructure in his facility:
  1. Can use the existing WiFi access points spread about the facility.
  2. Create a stand alone WiFi communication system with one (or more) access point.
In either case, the KEYPATROLLER software seeks out the individual radios and automatically extracts the event log data as vehicles come into range. No data is lost if the vehicle is out of range and all event log data is cleared from the device after the wireless download is completed.

The KEYTROLLER WiFi radios must be properly configured with an IP address and the proper encryption (security) scheme used by the company's WiFi system. Also, KEYPATROLLER software allows the programmer to send TEXT messages wirelessly to individual vehicles in range. LCD display shows IP address and signal strength of the device. Any downloaded event log item (like failed checklists or abusive impacts) can be automatically emailed when received by the KEYPATROLLER software. Wireless connectivity also permits any new firmware upgrades to be uploaded as new firmware features are developed.
