Attachments in 'heavy load-version' play a prominent role in the KAUP product portfolio. That's why attachments in high tonnages, sometimes very high tonnages, can be found in nearly all product families. Furthermore KAUP has already implemented numerous special attachments with high tonnages which are not part of the standard product range.

At KAUP 'heavy load' refers to every attachment capable of transporting more than 10 tons load, which means larger than ISO-class 4. It's difficult to say which attachment in the past was the biggest or heaviest since this is always specified by a combination of the weight of the load and lost load centre of the total weight to be transported. But KAUP attachments can, for example, transport cement pipes, coils of wire, ship and rail containers.

KAUP attachments in 'heavy load-version' can be found in operation in all different branches of industry such as construction, steel (foundry), recycling, mining ports and harbours.

In order to be in a position to deal with the differing requirements that 'heavy load-version' attachments generate, KAUP has a special group within the design department, which concentrates solely in designing "heavy load" attachments and other special attachments in this scale. In the course of the design process this group carries out the compulsory risk and hazard analyses in order to identify and eliminate, at an early state, any possible risks. Furthermore several KAUP employees, both in the office and in the field, are specialized in this attachment range.

The most common attachments in "heavy load version" can be found in the following KAUP product families. Each respective attachment is fitted with strengthened single parts tailored for "heavy duty" operation.

The demands on material handling tasks are increasingly more complex. KAUP Fork Positioners accommodate these requirements, as they increase the flexibility and profitability with more handling capacity of every forklift truck. KAUP offers the largest portfolio of Fork Positioners world wide - suitable for every transportation and operational task, up to heavy transport duties of 60 tonnes on inquiry.

Rotators

KAUP Rotators are the right choice to turn, load or empty containers, to tip recumbent load on to a pallet or to pick up a recumbent load. Driven by up to four possible oil engines and three differently large worm gears running in an oil bath, these attachments can be equipped with a fork carriage as well as forks. They are also the basis for numerous rotating attachment combinations. In addition to the normal versions of Rotators, KAUP has special variations for the fishing industries and for foundries on offer. Serially KAUP Rotators have a load-carrying capacity up to 25 tonnes. On inquiry a capacity up to 50 tonnes is possible.
For extra heavy duty cases KAUP has its own model: the KAUP Rotator type 10-42T351 with 360° endless rotation. This model has an especially high torque and can therefore easily transport heavy loads such as containers and carriages.

Coil Clamp (Steel industry)

A special attachment is the KAUP Coil Clamp. It is designed to transport and load heavy coils of wire. The coils have an inner diameter which lies between 550 mm and 930 mm and a weight of several tons. The Coil Clamp is optimally adapted to the specifications on site - it has a hydraulically telescoping jib including pivoting hydraulic clamp designed to pick up the transport load on the inside - i.e. clamps it.
