JCB India has celebrated the roll-out of its 500,000th piece of machinery, a telehandler.
JCB has been operating in India since 1979 and its products are used in infrastructure development across the country.
With six manufacturing facilities in India, JCB India exports made-in-India machines to more than 130 countries.
“India is today one of the strongest economies in the world,” JCB chairman Lord Anthony Bamford said at the celebrations at the company’s India headquarters in Ballabgarh.
“There has been a significant focus on infrastructure development over the past decade and we are proud to have been a part of this growth through our machines.”
JCB manufactures more than 60 different products in nine categories in India.
The company has also focused on gender diversity, with its Jaipur factory having 34% women on the shop floor and the Vadodara facility, which was inaugurated in 2022, has almost 52% women on the shop floor.
