Hannover. Experts from across the globe - from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Russia, India, China, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Finland and Germany - will be meeting at the CeMAT International Forum from 2-6 May 2011 to discuss "Sustainability in Intralogistics".

The lectures will focus on technical developments designed to ensure the sustainability of intralogistic systems for the entire spectrum of logistic processes. Keynote speeches will address a whole range of issues such as the configuration of secure, reliable supply chains, efficient distribution via transport networks and the concept of intermodal hubs to optimize freight distribution from busy terminals. Particular attention will be devoted to the development of sustainable systems and technology across the entire added value chain - for example, the movement of freight from transport hubs to production facilities. Experts from across the world will present new approaches and views on the sustainable development of logistics, stimulating what is expected to be a lively debate examining different concepts and solutions.

The role of intralogistics within added value chains

Major infrastructural projects will be presented in eight sessions categorized according to location and sector or field of competence. Benchmark examples of how to ensure sustainability in added value chains will also be highlighted.

Other keynote themes will include logistics processes for organization and control via modern IT applications, as well as developments in new energy-saving and resource-efficient technology for the operation of complete intralogistic systems. The main question: How can intralogistic systems be adapted and integrated within an ecologically acceptable and economically viable supply chain to the point of production and manufacture? And beyond that, how can distribution networks be configured within modern intralogistic processes? The aim of the Forum is to explore answers to these questions and similar key issues.

Other keynote themes include capacity maximization and the expansion of existing warehouse and distribution centres, as well as the role of information technology in the creation of flexible, efficiently managed intralogistic processes.

The Forum will be held on all five days of the trade fair. Participation is free of charge to visitors at CeMAT.
