We are seeing more reports about warehouse automation, and indeed, this week's newsletter has more than its fair share of such coverage.
It's all about efficiency, speed and accuracy as e-commerce grows and turnaround times are cut to the bone.
Amid all of the technology implementation, it's good to hear that robots are not replacing humans, but rather removing some of the more repetitive tasks and freeing people up for other activities. As a spokesperson points out this week, the automation at his brewery has not led to any reduction in staff numbers. Instead, the people currently driving forklifts will be "used in other parts of the logistics area".
So, technology delivers another win-win!
