There's more good news this week from the International Monetary Fund, but as usual, the improved figures are tempered with a warning that "the road to financial rehabilitation is unlikely to be straight" and that there will be significant policy issues ahead. IMF official José Viňals warns that although we are on the road to recovery, "this does not mean that risks have disappeared". One of the big shadows hanging over the world economy, he says, is the emerging "financing gap", where demand for capital outstrips supply and those businesses keen to invest and expand will be hampered by a lack of credit.
