Our dealer news tends to be concentrated in North America, but lately, there has been more activity in Europe.
In fact, this week, we report on three more developments - the take-over by Mitsubishi Logisnext of its UK distributor, Hyundai adding a partner in Belgium and Luxembourg and Toyota's appointment of a new dealer in the UK.
The Logisnext move is an interesting one, and the latest in a series of manufacturer acquisitions of their distributors and dealers. From the manufacturer's perspective, this shortens the supply chain to the end customer and increases efficiencies by reducing the cost of sales.
On the other side, consolidation can reduce competition and limit customer choice, but that's not the case in this week's moves.
