There have been a number of reports about warehouse automation in the last few weeks, suggesting that robotics is fast becoming mainstream.
This week, we report on another two implementations of autonomous equipment.
As we approach the busy holiday season, there are predictions that retail spending will surpass previous years, despite the increasing lock-downs around the world. Much of that increased spend will be through e-commerce, where automation is already well established.
While 2020 will no doubt be remembered for all the wrong reasons, in the logistics and warehousing sectors, it will probably go down as the technological tipping point where automation came of age and robots moved more material than ever before.
