North American-based automated materials handling solutions provider Intelligrated has entered an agreement to be acquired by Honeywell in a transaction valued at USD1.5 billion.
Intelligrated's 2016 sales are estimated to be approximately USD900 million and it brings an attractive portfolio of warehouse automation, order fulfillment and software solutions with an extensive presence in North American e-commerce, retail, food and beverage markets.
Intelligrated co-founders Chris Cole and Jim McCarthy will continue to serve in leadership roles as Intelligrated becomes part of Sensing and Productivity Solutions (S&PS) in Honeywell's Automation and Control Solutions business.
Intelligrated designs, manufactures, installs and supports conveyor, sortation, palletiser, robotics and AS/RS solutions, warehouse execution systems, labour management software and order fulfillment technologies.
Intelligrated employs more than 3,100 associates in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and China while the acquiring company, Honeywell, employs approximately 130,000 people worldwide, generating revenues of USD38.6 billion in 2015.
Intelligrated's supply chain automation solutions are a complement to Honeywell's extensive workflow performance solutions, including cloud-connected mobile worker applications, high-performance data collection hardware and other technologies to improve worker productivity.
