Hoist Liftruck Manufacturing has delivered two Generation 2 Titan F180 model forklifts with Cascade 150D paper roll clamps to a major Chicago-based print company.
The dealer did not disclose the sale price, Hoist sales manager Terry Troutman said.
The forklifts' ability to handle larger diameter rolls enabled the printer to make fewer roll changes, saving time and labour costs and increasing productivity. The paper rolls weighed up to 6,100kg, Troutman said.
Hoist has been manufacturing Titan forklifts for six years. A change to a heavier duty drive axle for the Generation 2 series required chassis and frame changes, and modified mast mounts. That enabled the trucks to meet the high lift requirements of Hoist Liftruck's paper, steel and aluminum industry customers, a company statement said.
Design changes had also made it easier to do routine maintenance, reducing service and repair downtime, the statement said. The Titan F180 can lift eight metres high and stack 3,175mm tall rolls three high using Cascade paper roll clamps.
The Titan compact forklift range, which includes the F180, has a nine to 10 tonne capacity. Its 80 inch wheel base gives it a 2,920mm turning radius, enabling it to work in small areas when unloading and loading railroad cars or containers or working among large presses and stamping machines.
Hoist's FKS series forklifts have a lifting capacity of 11 tonnes to 45 tonnes.
