Hertz Equipment Rental Corp supplies materials handling equipment |
Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Hertz Corporation, has been awarded a new contract with the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance, which includes aerial and forklift equipment.
The agreement extends the current five-year partnership for an additional three years and covers purchases for local and state government agencies, school districts, higher education and non-profit organisations.
Through the new contract, registered users will benefit from access to equipment rental products and solutions, including brand-new programs and services.
Lois Boyd, president of Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, notes that Hertz has been providing rental equipment to government agencies for 30 years "when ownership may not make financial sense".
The contract covers rentals as well as the purchase of new and used equipment.
In addition, standby contracts for power generation and disaster relief are now available to ensure that participants' communities are ready in case of emergency.
Safety training for aerial and forklift equipment can also be provided to individuals and groups within an agency's organisation, Boyd adds.
The deal taps into the buying power of more than 90,000 government agencies across the United States.
Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation operates one of the world's largest equipment rental businesses, offering a diverse line of equipment and tools for rent and sale. Products include aerial lifts, forklifts and materials handling equipment, trucks and trailers.
