The Fork Lift Truck Association (FLTA) is calling for nominations for the FLTA Annual Awards for Excellence 2009.

"Many of the finalists in recent years have been nominated by themselves - and we strongly encourage that," says FLTA chief executive David Ellison. The association is seeking nominations in four key product and service categories - Safety, Environment, Ergonomics and Innovation. There are also several other awards, including the important Safe Site Award.

Winners will receive the famous solid bronze 'Archie' statuette - acknowledged as the materials handling industry's ultimate accolade - at a glittering ceremony in February 2009.

But according to Ellison, it's not just about winning: "Having your product or service nomination accepted makes you an FLTA Awards finalist - and being an FLTA Awards finalist carries a lot of kudos in itself. All finalists are entitled to use an FLTA Awards finalist logo, which we provide, and will enjoy a lot of positive exposure through the year-long publicity that surrounds the Awards."

To be eligible, nominated products or services must have been launched within the period from 1st October 2007 to 30th September 2008. By 'launched', the FLTA means the product or service must have been available for purchase, or the product must have been fitted to equipment that is available for purchase.

Nominations close on September 30, 2008 and nomination forms are available on the FLTA website to find out more.
