Burlington-based Eoslift USA Corp is developing a North American network of dealers for its materials handling equipment, according to Kaiping (Kay) Fu, operation and finance manager.

Parent company Zhejiang Eoslift Equipment Co Ltd is based, and has manufacturing operations, in Haiyan, south-west of Shanghai in China's Zhejiang province. The company started to research the warehousing technology and equipment market in1999 and began production of pallet trucks and stackers in 2008.

On 14 September, Eoslift USA used space in a convention centre in Ontario, California for the company's first US exhibition of Eoslift products including "the latest developments". Models on display included four lift work platforms, three each of electric pallet trucks and electric stackers, two hand pallet, scale pallet and table trucks, a semi-electric stacker and a drum picker.

At the event, Eoslift USA sales managers welcomed prospective dealers, arranged trial orders with some and began the process of signing distribution agreements.

Eoslift USA was established on 1 June and currently handles storage and distribution through contract facilities of Smart Warehousing in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Ontario. In addition to the US initiative, Eoslift is exploring the potential markets for its products in Canada and Mexico.

Direct-sales branch Eoslift Europe GmbH in Neuss, Germany is experiencing success in developing the European Union (EU) market, particularly in France and Germany, and on the EU's periphery in the Russian Federation.

"Russia is a new market for Eoslift," Fu says. "They are using our products because of the good price and quality."

From Eoslift's perspective, the "eos" portion of the name comes from the Greek mythological goddess dawn and also is an acronym for "excellence of service."
