The two-platform AMRs will be upgradedFrench robot maker Effidence will upgrade an indoor-outdoor robot fleet to keep pace with enhancements at a carmaker’s production facility.
Effidence says it had supplied the unnamed carmaker’s warehouse with two-platform EffiBOT autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to transport automotive parts between its logistics site and its production line.
The AMRs are able to communicate with their working environment, including automatic doors.
“The robot, which can be used as a logistics train, is also equipped with a smart coupling system, enabling trailers to be released autonomously,” Effidence says in a statement.
The customer plans to install fixed conveyer lines at its warehouse, requiring the existing EffiBOT fleet to be upgraded with a convey-drop structure to replace the current trays.
“The car manufacturer is looking to upgrade its process to a gravity conveyor system, with plans to transform its site and install fixed conveyor lines,” the statement says.
“The new mission will be to make journeys between the various stations.”
Last year, Effidence was chosen to supply a fleet of AMR stackers to French logistics company Rhenus Logistics.
It also supplied a fleet of EffiBOT robots to automotive company Daimay, the French subsidiary of a Chinese industrial group.
In 2020, Effidence signed a strategic partnership with the Manitou group to distribute EffiBOT robots in Europe and market Manitou warehouse machines, including stackers, tractors and order pickers, robotised using Effidence technology.
Effidence makes collaborative standalone robots, "follow-me" and autonomous robots to work with or near humans, as well as cooperating fleet type "swarm-me" robots.
