Turkey was the chosen location for the Doosan Middle East and North African dealers conference held on 8th-9th May.The event, held in the city of Istanbul, was attended by 35 representatives from the nine countries that make up the Middle East & North African network. This included sales people, reporters and members of Doosan forklifts sales, strategy, marketing and parts team.
Major topics of the conference included market and sales reviews, the introduction of new products, parts news and advice on how dealers could best utilise marketing support. Attendees were especially interested in the demonstration of tropical options for high-temperature working conditions.
A highlight of the conference was the delivery of a joint presentation by Saudi Arabian dealer Saudi Diesel Equipment and Turkish dealer Sanko Makina who shared their success stories with other dealers.
The second day of the conference saw our Turkish hosts give attendees a tour of Istanbul, visiting several historical places such as Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque), Basilica Cistern and the Grand Bazaar.
During the conference, Mr. CW Park, Head of Doosan Forklifts, emphasized the importance of building and maintaining excellent relationships between Doosan and its distributors, falling in line with the continuous strong vision of Doosan forklifts after its now independent status from Doosan Infracore.
Dealers were very positive about the event, commenting that they felt confident of their relationship with Doosan forklifts thanks to the preparations and information presented by the company at the conference.
The dealer representatives were very optimistic that this year would be a turning point in sales growth and that the target of Year 2011 sales would be reached well.
